NEW DELHI: A bird was found alive in the cockpit of Air India Express’ Bahrain to Kochi on Friday (July 15).
The aircraft landed safely at its destination. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation is probing this case. “Prima facie it appears to be a ground handling lapse at the foreign station,” said a senior DGCA official.
The flight, IX-474, was cruising at 37,000 feet when the bird was found in the glove compartment in the flight deck on co-pilot side. More details are awaited.
