The Chhattisgarh government is all set to start purchasing cow urine from farmers at the Gothan centres established by the state in the villages. The government has decided to pay ₹4 per litre for cow urine.
Currently, the government purchases cow dung at ₹2 per kg under the Go Dhan scheme. which was started on July 20, 2020
Chief minister Bhupesh Baghel will launch the scheme at one of the Gothans in Raipur on July 28.
Gothan is a pet project of Baghel government to make agriculture sustainable and resolve the stray cattle issue in the state by monetising farmers through what was treated as waste till some time ago. The state government has focused on multiple activities apart from cow dung purchase.
