CRPF recovers 900 IEDs, 500 detonators from Maoists in Bihar | India News

The recoveries were made last week in the jungles of Gaya district of Bihar.

NEW DELHI: The CRPF’s CoBRA battalion has recovered a huge cache of improvised explosive devices (IEDs) – including 386 can IEDs, 446 series IEDs and 75 pressure IEDs – during anti-Maoist operations in Gaya and Aurangabad districts over the past one week.
The CRPF officers revealed that recoveries made by the 205 CoBRA battalion from the jungles of Gaya in the last few days included an AK-47 gun, 250 rounds of ammunition, 65 pressure IEDs, 446 series IEDs, 101 can IEDs and 495 detonators. On Wednesday, the same CoBRA battalion recovered IEDs, which included 10 pressure IEDs and 285 can IEDs, from Laduiya Pahad in Aurangabad.
All the IEDs recovered were destroyed in-situ, said a CRPF officer.
According to the officer, the CoBRA battalion has over the past week busted Maoist hideouts and ammunition dumps almost on a daily basis.
