After a blockbuster December, here are Marvel’s plans for 2022

Dream December

With Spiderman: No Way Home raking in the money, as well as rave reviews, Marvel’s December is going incredibly well. With Hawkeye’s TV show also doing well, the MCU enters 2022 on a high, here’s what they have lined up for next year.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness

Kicking off from the events of Spiderman, the second Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) movie is set to feature Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) as they grapple with the side effects of opening up the multiverse. Scheduled for release on May 6, 2022.

Thor: Love and Thunder

Taika Waititi returns to direct the fourth installment in the series, with Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) set to take over as Thor, currently played by Chris Hemsworth. The movie will also see Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) and Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) return on July 8, 2022

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

Following the death of Chadwick Boseman, Marvel President Kevin Feige confirmed that the role of T’Challa won’t be recast, which leaves Ryan Coogler’s second movie with a lot of story to fill in. Set for release on November 11, 2022

It has been said that Megan Thee Stallion will also make an appearance. One of the many unexpected developments is that Charlie Cox will return to play Matt Murdock/Daredevil. And Tim Roth (The Incredible Hulk) is back as the Abomination.

Head writer Jessica Gao is also known for her work on Rick and Morty, specifically the critically acclaimed third season episode “Pickle Rick” which earned her an Emmy. It has been directed by Kat Cairo and produced by Anu Valia.
