Shares of HDFC Bank(up 0.91 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 0.84 per cent), Axis Bank(up 0.81 per cent), Federal Bank(up 0.67 per cent) and State Bank of India(up 0.64 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Bank of Baroda(down 1.72 per cent), Punjab National Bank(down 1.54 per cent), IDFCBANK(down 1.22 per cent), IndusInd Bank(down 0.96 per cent) and Bandhan Bank(down 0.88 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Bank index closed 0.3 per cent up at 39421.0.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 3.35 points at 17539.45, while the BSE Sensex stood up 36.74 points at 58803.33.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 15 ended in the green, while 35 closed in the red.
Shares of , JP Power, , Zomato Ltd. and Tata Tele were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
