Shares of Strides Pharma Science(up 4.54 per cent), Granules India(up 2.65 per cent), Cipla(up 1.37 per cent), Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 1.25 per cent) and Zydus Lifesciences(up 1.09 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Alkem Laboratories(down 1.65 per cent), Divis Laboratories(down 1.63 per cent), Alembic Pharmaceuticals(down 1.42 per cent), Biocon(down 1.25 per cent) and Ipca Laboratories(down 1.13 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.06 per cent down at 12214.55.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 18.15 points at 15850.2, while the BSE Sensex stood up 16.17 points at 53177.45.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 31 ended in the green, while 19 closed in the red.
Shares of Zomato Ltd., , ONGC, and SAIL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
