Shares of Divis Laboratories(up 1.46 per cent), Torrent Pharmaceuticals(up 1.0 per cent), Granules India(up 0.69 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 0.32 per cent) and Pfizer(up 0.09 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Lupin(down 1.83 per cent), Abbott India(down 1.31 per cent), Laurus(down 1.1 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma(down 0.92 per cent) and Glenmark Pharmaceuticals(down 0.81 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.1 per cent down at 12580.45.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 36.45 points at 17558.9, while the BSE Sensex stood up 59.15 points at 58833.87.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 35 ended in the green, while 15 closed in the red.
