Jamtara season 2 is likely to hit the small screen on September 23 as announced by Netflix India on Wednesday. The second season of the web series inspired by true crime events will have higher stakes for Sunny played by Sparsh Shrivastav and Gudiya played by Monika Panwar, who plan to dive deeper into the phishing and cyber-crime world. The plot is based on how the politicians like Brajesh Bhaan played by Amit Sial aim to control the phishing scams in order to win the elections but in contrast the local elections start getting driven by the phishing.
Jamtara Season 2 will see the return of Sparsh, Monika and Amit along with Anshumaan Pushkar playing Rocky. The series will have Dibyendu Bhattacharya in the role of an Inspector and Aksha Pardhasany playing the role of Superintendent of Police. The second season will bring on two new characters which will be played by Seema Pahwa of Ramprasad ki Tehrvi fame and Ravi Chahal.
Jamtara- Sabka Number Ayega – Season 1 won the National Award. The series was about a few young school drop outs based in a sleepy town of Jharkhand trying to scam people of their hard earned money. Soon as the business starts becoming lucrative the local politicians want their share of the pie. The season 1 was extremely popular among audience and it remained in the top 10 Indian titles of 2020.
Produced by Ajit Andhare, a Viacom18 Studios-owned Tipping Point production, Jamtara-season 2 was announced in March 2021. The web series will be streamed on Netflix alongside other local originals like Fabulous Wives of Bollywood Wives season 2 and Indian Predator: The Diary of a Serial Killer releasing on September 2 and September 7 respectively.
