MUMBAI: Actor, producer and film critic Kamaal R Khan (54) was arrested by Malad police on Tuesday for his derogatory tweets in 2020. Shiv Sena member Rahul Kanal had complained that Khan operated two Twitter handles, which he used for posting distasteful tweets about celebrities.
A lookout circular had been issued against him as he was not in Mumbai then.
As soon as he landed at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International airport on Monday, police were informed and he was detained.
In October 2020, Kanal complained about Khan’s tweets on Akshay Kumar’s film ‘Laxmi’. Kanal said the tweets were aimed at spreading hatred and creating enmity between communities.
