The Nikhil Siddhartha-starrer Karthikeya 2 is having a successful run at the box office. The film had earned more than Rs 70 crore in nine days as of Monday. The Telugu movie had a successful second weekend and faces no real competition for this week either. Karthikeya 2 has also received recommendations from superstars like Pawan Kalyan and others.

Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh claimed that the Hindi version of the movie was also doing good business, bringing in Rs 16 crore till Monday. The success has helped Karthikeya 2 join the list of mid-budget movies performing well at the box office, following in the footsteps of Dulquer Salmaan‘s Sita Raman and Kalyan Ram’s Bimbisara, which were released a week before Nikhil’s blockbuster.

Taran Adarsh tweeted that Karthikeya 2 was the first choice for the cinema audience over the weekend. The movie has also garnered positive reviews, especially for holding on its own without any big names or typical

punch lines and electrifying songs. The movie earned over 38 crores in the Telugu states alone, while the numbers from the United States were encouraging too.

Bollywood’s Role-Model Female Characters

Queen

The Rani character from the film Queen was a ground-breaking figure. All the women yelled, “You go girl!” as she made the decision to not wallow in self-pity in the wake of her fiance’s rejection. The woman demonstrated to us the importance of independence and the fact that not all women’s stories end in marriage.

Toilet Ek Prem Katha

Bhumi Pednekar’s character Jaya is a college-educated woman who marries Akshay Kumar after falling in love. When she gets to her in-laws’ house, she is disappointed to see there isn’t a toilet, so she makes the decision to leave and insist that if her husband really wants her back, a toilet be installed. She is adamant about getting what she wants and won’t give up until she does.

Kahaani

The “never-say-die” mentality of women is well embodied by Vidya Bagchi, a contemporary woman. She portrays an expectant woman who travels the streets of Kolkata in her role as a fierce spy. The symbolic parallel between Maa Durga and Vidya Bagchi is entirely accurate!

Neerja

Sonam Kapoor played Neerja Bhanot in the movie Neerja. Neerja Bhanot is frequently at the top of lists of fearless and audacious women for the year 2016. Neerja fought terrorists without considering her own safety and helped save many people’s lives. Neerja taught us to embrace our fears with courage in addition to teaching us to be bold. Everyone was in awe of Sonam Kapoor’s stirring performance in this movie.

Mardaani 2

In the movie, Rani Mukherji portrays a formidable Senior Inspector who possesses both great physical and mental fortitude.

Inspector Shivani Shivaji Roy is a strong inspector who knocks up bad individuals, but she also has a maternal side that inspires her to save an orphan child.

Shivani embodies both a woman’s powerful and sensitive aspects in equal measure.

Mardaani is a very empowering tale of a lone wolf who defeats men’s gangs on his own.

Karthikeya 2 was released worldwide on August 13, 2022. Apart from Nikhil, the movie also stars Anupam Kher, Anupama Parameswaran, Srinivas Reddy, and others. The movie is directed by Chandoo Mondeti and is the sequel to the 2014 film Karthikeya, which was also a box office hit.

At least for the moment, with the release of Sita Raman, Bimbisara, and Karthikeya 2, the gloominess in the cinema halls has finally shattered. One of the best outcomes of these three movies has been their acceptance in the Hindi belt, even without the jaw-dropping VFX of the RRRs or the flamboyant violence of the KGFs. Having more takers among Hindi-speaking audiences will raise the competition, compelling the dulling mainstream Hindi movie stakeholders to push their limits.

Ultimately, the viewer is the winner!
