India on Thursday reported its first case of monkeypox from Kerala. A traveller who arrived in Kerala three days ago from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) was hospitalised after he displayed symptoms of monkeypox. Monkeypox, endemic in parts of Africa, is a viral disease that causes flu-like symptoms and skin lesions.
