Shiv Sena’s Chief Whip, Sunil Prabhu, has issued a letter to all party MLAs, asking them to be present in an important meeting that will be held on today evening.
“If you do not attend this meeting at 5 pm today, it will be presumed that you intend to leave the party and your membership is liable to be cancelled under the law,” the letter said.
The letter came after Eknath Shinde has claimed the support of 46 MLAs yesterday and has declared that he will remain a Shiv Sainik.
The letter sent via WhatsApp, email and SMS, also warns that if an MLA remains absent from the meeting without proper reason and prior information, action will be taken against them as per constitutional provisions.
The Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government in Maharashtra is in crisis as a result of a revolt by a number of Shiv Sena MLAs, led by Eknath Shinde. According to rumours, Shinde is angry with the party’s leadership because of an agreement with the Congress and NCP.
Shinde is believed to be upset with the party leadership over an alliance with the Congress and NCP.
