The NSE Nifty50 index ended 178.95 points up at 15989.8, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 616.62 points at 53750.97.
Britannia Industries(up 4.76%), Bajaj Finance(up 4.52%), Bajaj Finserv(up 4.37%), Hindustan Unilever(up 4.03%), Eicher Motors(up 3.65%), Hero MotoCorp(up 3.45%), Asian Paints(up 3.43%), Maruti Suzuki(up 3.37%), Titan Company Ltd(up 3.03%) and TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(up 2.87%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 5.06%), Power Grid Corporation of India(down 1.73%), NTPC(down 1.35%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(down 1.31%), Hindalco Industries(down 1.25%), Reliance Industries(down 0.88%), Larsen & Toubro(down 0.56%), Coal India(down 0.41%), Tata Steel(down 0.23%) and Dr Reddys Laboratories(down 0.1%) closed in the red.
