Mithilesh Chaturvedi Death News: Veteran actor Mithilesh Chaturvedi, who shone as Ram Jethmalani in ‘Scam 1992’, passes away after heart attack

Seasoned actor Mithilesh Chaturvedi, who played small yet strong supporting roles in multiple films over three decades, passed away on Wednesday night in Lucknow. He was 67.

Director Hansal Mehta, who worked with Chaturvedi in the hit web series ‘Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story’, mourned the actor’s demise on Instagram. On Thursday morning, Mehta captioned a picture on Instagram, “RIP Mithileshji.”

Reportedly, Chaturvedi died after suffering a cardiac attack in Lucknow. His son-in-law Ashish took to Facebook to mourn the loss, and wrote that his passing has left a void.

Chaturvedi first grabbed attention in Ram Gopal Varma‘s cult film, ‘Satya’. The actor had a small yet powerful role as ‘Builder Malhotra’ in the 1998 superhit film. After ‘Satya’, he was seen in other hits like ‘Koi Mil Gaya‘, ‘Asoka’, ‘Gadar Ek Prem Katha’ and ‘Aks’.

His last TV outing was in the superhit ‘Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story’ where he reprised the role of famous lawyer Ram Jethmalani who took up the onerous task of defending stock trader Harshad Mehta who masterminded the stock market scam along with other bankers and politicians on the Bombay Stock Exchange. Chaturvedi earned high praise for his role in the series. The actor has been seen in a host of films and TV shows over three decades.
