Nothing Phone has managed to garner significant hype worldwide. One of the things that the phone promised was OS updates; Phone 1 already has a new update. The company has announced that nothing will gradually roll out the v1.1.3 OS update for Phone 1 in India. The new update is 64.33MB, suggesting that the updates are not major. However, the update has brought many improvements to the phone’s user experience.

The update brings two important new features to the Nothing Phone 1 :-


Firstly, redesigned fingerprint verification for 3rd party apps and the option to turn on Google‘s Adaptive Battery for battery optimization.

Secondly, the form of camera improvements. The Nothing Phone 1 will can now automatically optimize color and brightness in images while using Glyph.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G Plus

The device will come powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G Plus 5G. It features an octa-core CPU and Adreno 642L GPU. The processor is a slightly enhanced version of Qualcomm’s existing Snapdragon 778G.

Display

The smartphone sports a 6.55-inch OLED display with up to a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. Both the display and front panel will come with Gorilla Glass 5 protection.

50MP Rear Cameras

The rear camera module of the Nothing phone (1) features two advanced 50 MP sensors, with the main camera powered by the flagship Sony IMX766. The wide ƒ/1.8 aperture, dual image stabilisation and 10-bit colour videos offer exceptionally stable video. The camera interface also comes with intelligent features like Night Mode and Scene Detection.

16MP Front Camera

The Nothing phone (1) will come with a 16MP selfie shooter ideal for video calls and self-portraits.

The front camera has also received minor improvements in terms of clarity. Likewise, the update has reduced image processing times in HDR and Night Mode. Other camera improvements include better color saturation in ultra-wide, noise reduction, and improved sharpness while zooming in. Another interesting bit added is the reminder to clean the phone’s lens before using the camera.

The new v1.1.3 update also fixes minor bugs and brings performance optimizations. This includes solving the stuttering issue for apps like Play Store and Twitter, mobile hotspot issues, lock screen notification issues, etc. Minor tweaks have also been made to UI details for better performance.

Nothing Phone 1 was launched in July 2022, making headlines for its unique design, value proposition, and clean UX/UI. The phone comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G+ chipset. Nothing Phone 1 comes with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB of storage. You get dual cameras – a 50-megapixel primary sensor and a 50-megapixel wide angle lens. The phone also comes with a 16-megapixel selfie camera, with an FHD+ OLED display, a 120Hz fast refresh rate, and a touch sampling rate of 240Hz.
