Benchmark NSE Nifty closed 18.15 points up at 15850.2 amid buying in frontline bluechip counters.

The BSE Sensex closed 16.17 points up at 53177.45.
Traders piled up positions in Industrial Equipment, Gas & Petroleum, Paper, Metals – Non Ferrous and Telecommunications sectors, while selling was witnessed in Engineering, Tourism & Hospitality, Agro Processing, Miscellaneous and Media & Entertainment sectors during the day.
