’83’
Helmed by Kabir Khan, ’83’ stars Ranveer Singh as Kapil Dev, who led the World Cup-winning team, and Deepika Padukone, who plays the cricketer’s wife in the film. The 37-year-old hit it out of the park with his to-the-point portrayal of ace cricketer and former captain of Team India.
‘Padmaavat’
In Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Padmaavat’, Singh played a villainous role. In this 2018 period drama, the actor turned into a power hungry Alauddin Khilji who forms an obsessive love for the Queen of Mewar, Queen Padmavati, wife of noble king Ratan Singh. ‘Bajirao Mastani’
Singh’s another amazing performance was yet again a Bhansali directorial, ‘Bajirao Mastani’ which released in 2015. In this epic romantic drama, Singh played the role of Bajirao. The film depicts the romance between the Maratha general and princess of Bundelkhand, Mastani.
Besides Anupam Kher, Unchai includes Amitabh Bachchan, Boman Irani, and Parineeti. There is also a great cast like Chopra and Nina Gupta.
