NEW DELHI: A special PMLA Court in Srinagar on Tuesday issued notices to National Conference (NC) president Farooq Abdullah and some other people, directing them to appear before it on August 27 when the trial begins in a money laundering case linked to Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) funds.
The Enforcement Directorate had filed a supplementary chargesheet before the special PMLA Court against former J&K chief minister Abdullah and others on June 4.
Abdullah has been accused of siphoning off JKCA funds by way of transfer to various personal bank accounts of unrelated parties, including those of the association’s office bearers, besides unexplained cash withdrawals from its accounts.
