The NSE Nifty50 index ended 28.2 points down at 15752.05, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 111.01 points at 52907.93.
ITC(up 3.97%), Bajaj Finance(up 3.96%), Bajaj Finserv(up 3.57%), Cipla(up 3.5%), Britannia Industries(up 3.4%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(up 3.23%), Asian Paints(up 2.89%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(up 2.81%), JSW Steel(up 2.54%) and Hindustan Unilever(up 2.32%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 13.53%), Reliance Industries(down 7.2%), Power Grid Corporation of India(down 2.55%), Bajaj Auto(down 2.21%), Bharti Airtel(down 1.68%), NTPC(down 1.57%), Coal India(down 1.27%), Maruti Suzuki(down 0.8%), ICICI Bank(down 0.47%) and Eicher Motors(down 0.41%) closed in the red.
