The NSE Nifty50 index ended 56.65 points up at 15350.15, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 237.42 points at 51597.84.
Hindustan Unilever(up 4.05%), HDFC(up 4.02%), Asian Paints(up 3.12%), UltraTech Cement(up 3.01%),
Enterprises(up 2.98%), HDFC Bank(up 2.51%), Wipro(up 2.33%), Shree Cement(up 2.04%), Grasim Industries(up 2.01%) and Nestle India(up 1.95%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Tata Steel(down 5.0%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 4.98%), UPL Ltd(down 3.71%), Hindalco Industries(down 3.66%), Coal India(down 3.18%), IndusInd Bank(down 2.83%), NTPC(down 2.28%), Reliance Industries(down 1.81%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(down 1.64%) and Tata Motors(down 1.61%) closed in the red.
