Stock Market Sectors: Stock market update: Power stocks mixed as market rises

NEW DELHI: Power shares closed higher in the Friday’s session.

PIGL(up 4.95%), KEC International(up 3.89%), SJVN(up 2.63%), Orient Green Power Company(up 2.12%), Tata Power Company(up 1.65%), Torrent Power(up 1.46%), Energy Development Company(up 1.46%), Hitachi Energy India(up 1.40%), NHPC(up 1.17%) and

Transmission(up 1.08%) stood among the top gainers.

Indowind Energy(down 4.01%), Voltamp Transformers(down 3.95%), DPSC(down 3.19%), Power Grid Corporation of India(down 2.58%), Indo Tech Transformers(down 2.29%), Inox Wind Energy(down 2.09%), Karma Energy(down 2.01%), Inox wind(down 1.95%),

Limited(down 1.55%) and Alstom T&D India(down 1.46%) were among the top losers of the day.

The NSE Nifty50 index ended 110.55 points up at 16049.2, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 344.63 points at 53760.78.

TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(up 3.23%), Titan Company Ltd(up 2.93%), Tata Motors(up 2.84%), Hindustan Unilever(up 2.83%), Eicher Motors(up 2.67%), Mahindra & Mahindra(up 2.61%), Maruti Suzuki(up 2.45%), Larsen & Toubro(up 2.35%), HDFC(up 2.25%) and Nestle India(up 2.22%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Tata Steel(down 2.67%), Power Grid Corporation of India(down 2.58%), HCL Technologies(down 2.2%), Wipro(down 1.89%), JSW Steel(down 1.3%), Axis Bank(down 0.91%), IndusInd Bank(down 0.71%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(down 0.64%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 0.47%) and Tech Mahindra(down 0.2%) closed in the red.
