Wall Street’s main indexes opened higher on Thursday, extending a rally from the previous session as fresh evidence of cooling inflation further cemented expectations of a smaller rise in interest rates.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 215 points, or about 0.7%. The S&P 500 added 0.6%, and the Nasdaq Composite rose 0.7%.
Disney shares jumped more than 7% after the media giant posted stronger-than-anticipated subscriber numbers for the last quarter, along with earnings and revenue that topped expectations.
