US stocks were little changed Tuesday after a steep selloff in the previous session on concerns about aggressive signals from the U.S. Federal Reserve on rate hikes, with manufacturing and services data on tap.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 2 points, or 0.01%, while the S&P 500 gained 0.06% and Nasdaq Composite advanced 0.19%.
Traders are bracing for hawkish talk at the Jackson Hole event after recent comments from Fed officials convinced many investors the central bank will continue to tighten aggressively, even into a slowing economy.
