NEW DELHI: Power shares closed lower in the Thursday’s session.
Adani Transmissions(up 3.27%) and Voltamp Transformers(up 1.19%) stood among the top gainers.
Alstom T&D India(down 6.32%), JSW Energy(down 5.81%), DPSC(down 5.79%), Transformers and Rectifiers(India)(down 5.58%), NLC India(down 5.52%), Hitachi Energy India(down 5.22%), Inox Wind Energy(down 5.00%), PIGL(down 5.00%), Orient Green Power Company(down 4.88%) and Reliance Power(down 4.74%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 331.55 points down at 15360.6, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 1045.6 points at 51495.79.
Nestle India(up 0.43%), Britannia Industries(up 0.15%) and Hindustan Unilever(up 0.01%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Tata Steel(down 6.03%), Hindalco Industries(down 5.99%), Coal India(down 5.34%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 5.18%), Tata Motors(down 5.11%), Tech Mahindra(down 4.39%), Bharti Airtel(down 4.09%), Wipro(down 4.04%), IndusInd Bank(down 4.0%) and UPL Ltd(down 4.0%) closed in the red.
