Reliance Jio continued to have the largest share of the pie at 35.50%, with Bharti
a close second with 31.61% share, while Vodafone Idea’s share slipped further to 22.68%, according to the latest subscriber data released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) on Thursday.
The Trai data showed that Airtel had the maximum number of active subscribers (VLR) on the date of peak VLR in March (97.65%), followed by
Jio with 93.39% active subscribers.
The total wireless subscriber base rose from 1,142.09 million subscribers, to 1,142.66 million in April 2022, the data showed.
Wireless subscriptions in urban areas declined by 0.07% month-on-month to 623.78 million at the end of April, while rural subscription base increased by 0.20% to 518.88 million during the same period.
