free covid booster dose: Cabinet approves free booster dose for citizens above 18-years-old; new road and rail line under Gati Shakti Yojana

Union Minister Anurag Thakur on Wednesday announced free Covid booster dose drive for 75 days starting from July 15, for citizen above 18 years of age. Union Cabinet also approved Taranga Hill-Ambaji-Abu Road new rail line to provide connectivity and improve mobility.

The estimated cost of this project is Rs 2,798.16 crores and will be completed by 2026-27.

New railway line at Taranga hills to Abu road will help to join two states, Rajasthan and Gujarat respectively. It will help to connect three pilgrimage centers that will not only help devotees but also benefit the farmers, businessman and army officials coming to the state.

“When the Covid pandemic hit the country, the Modi government was able to eradicate the tension among the mass. We mass produced two different vaccine doses. Since then more than 199 crore free vaccination has been distributed so far.” said the minister.

Free vaccination doses were earlier available only for health workers and armed forces. Now it will be available for citizens above 18 year-old, he announced.

He also stated that the universities, the railways has taken a leap under the

shakti Yojna introduced by Modi government. Currently, the government is working on Rs 100 crore development programmed on roads and railways. Where applied science, technology, researches will be used for the better development of roads and railways.

Gati Shakti university will be recognised as deemed university and come under central university. New researches, degree and diploma opportunity will be provided by the university and students across the country will be able to avail these benefits.

These decision comes under the light of Azadi ka Amrit Kaal, as India is celebrating 75 years of Independence.
