Raju Srivastava Health: A week after heart attack, Raju Srivastava continues to be critical; comedian still on life support

Raju Srivastava, who is undergoing treatment at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi, continues to remain critical. The comedian’s condition has shown no improvement and he is still on life support.

According to a report in
ETimes, the stand-up artiste’s condition worsened after his blood pressure had dropped drastically on Wednesday evening. The levels have currently been stabilized but the overall condition has gone further downhill, it added.

ETimes also reported that top neuro-surgeon Dr Padma Srivastava, who was presently in Kolkata, is being flown to Delhi to treat the comedian.

“We are hoping and praying for a miracle. Dr Padma Srivastava is flying to Delhi from Kolkata, she should be here by this evening. As we speak, Raju ji’s condition has become very critical,” Kushal, a nephew of Srivastava, was quoted as saying to
ETimes.

The 58-year-old had collapsed while he was running on a treadmill on August 10. He was admitted to AIIMS in New Delhi after he suffered a heart attack on August 10. The same day, Srivastava underwent an angioplasty. Since the angioplasty he has remained unconscious.

A familiar face in the entertainment industry since the 1980s, Srivastava catapulted to fame after participating in the first season of the reality stand-up comedy show ‘The Great Indian Laughter Challenge’ in 2005. He is also the chairman of the Film Development Council Uttar Pradesh.

Srivastava has featured in Hindi films such as ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’, ‘Baazigar’, the remake of ‘Bombay to Goa’ and ‘Aamdani Atthani Kharcha Rupaiya’.
