A cloudburst was reported near the holy shrine of Amarnath at around 5.30 pm claiming at least five lives on Friday.
Minutes ago, in a statement to ANI, IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar had said that rescue operations are being carried by by Police, NDRF & SFs.
“Some langars and tents have come under cloud burst/flash floods at Holy Cave, two deaths reported. Rescue operation by Police, NDRF & SFs in progress. Injured being airlifted for treatment. Situation under control,” he said.
News agency IANS reported six injuries so far.
“Six injuries have been initially reported. We are trying to ascertain whether any Yatri is missing in this accident or not,” IANS quoted a source as saying.
