Day 1 action saw India‘s mixed badminton team dominating Pakistan 5-0. The women’s cricket team had a disappointing start, losing to the arch-rivals by three wickets. Pugilist Shiva Thapa raised the boxing bar by winning the men’s 63.5kg Round of 32 bout against Pakistan’s Suleman Baloch and the women’s hockey sealed a 5-0 win against Ghana in their campaign opener.
