Flood Like Situation Occur in Varanasi; 84 ghats inundated – The Economic Times Video

The Ganga continued to rise in Varanasi and other adjoining districts on Friday, forcing locals to shift to safer places. As the water level of the river was increasing at the rate of three centimetres per hour in Varanasi, ghat steps were submerged under flood water, breaking the inter-connectivity of the ghats. Owing to the continuous increase in water level, the operation of boats has been restricted in Ganga in Varanasi as a precautionary measure.
