NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index closed on a positive note on Wednesday.
Shares of Tata Motors(up 2.21 per cent), Balkrishna Industries(up 2.06 per cent), TIINDIA(up 1.95 per cent), Hero MotoCorp(up 1.87 per cent) and Escorts(up 1.5 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Eicher Motors(down 0.1 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.92 per cent up at 11206.75.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 39.95 points at 15692.15, while the BSE Sensex stood down 152.18 points at 52541.39.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 24 ended in the green, while 26 closed in the red.
Shares of , , MRPL, and were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of KPI Global Infra,
, , Standard Ind and Globe Intl. Carriers hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while , , , and hit their fresh 52-week lows.
