NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index closed on a negative note on Wednesday.
Shares of Hero MotoCorp(up 3.42 per cent), Eicher Motors(up 1.78 per cent), TIINDIA(up 0.53 per cent) and Balkrishna Industries(up 0.38 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Sona BLW Precision Forgings(down 5.48 per cent), Bharat Forge(down 1.97 per cent), Escorts Kubota(down 1.27 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra(down 1.09 per cent) and Ashok Leyland(down 1.07 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.42 per cent down at 13194.25.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 119.0 points at 17944.25, while the BSE Sensex stood up 417.92 points at 60260.13.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 34 ended in the green, while 16 closed in the red.
Shares of Zomato Ltd., YES Bank, , and were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Nava Bharat Vent., S Chand & Co,
, and NDTV hit their fresh 52-week highs in today’s trade, while , , , and hit their fresh 52-week lows.
