Dhankhar’s journey from a Rajasthan village to V-P House (PTI)

The 2,000 households at Kaithana village in Rajasthan’s Jhunjhunu erupted in a mass celebration as the son of the soil and NDA-backed candidate Jagdeep Dhankhar was elected VP on Saturday.
“The mood for celebrations had set in the day he was named as VP candidate. Since then, we’ve been receiving people at Choudhario-Ki-Haveli, our ancestral house, where our uncles live,” said Yashpal Dhankhar, a distant relative of Dhankhar. He is part of the team that is planning a grand welcome of Dhankhar when he visits his village after assuming the new office.
