Synopsis
Historically, successive waves of technology and automation have been accompanied by uncertainty around what they will mean for jobs. Besides lifelong learning that can help make employment future-proof, what will be needed are humanistic skills, which, unlike rule-based tasks, cannot be replaced by mechanisation.
