Kareena Kapoor said it during a recent episode of ‘Case Toh Banta Hai’. While speaking in Hindi, the actor claimed that the sale of ‘harem pants’ and ‘revenue’ of the Indian Railways increased after she portrayed ‘Geet’ on the big screen in the movie ‘Jab We Met,’ which was directed by Imtiaz Ali.
The film ‘Jab We Met’ was released in 2007, and had Shahid Kapoor as the male lead opposite Kareena Kapoor. The movie was a big box-office success and was praised by critics too. In the movie, the train sequence plays an important part. Kareena (Geet) first meets Shahid (Aditya) on a train. Later, Shahid Kapoor helps Kareena Kapoor after the actor misses her train two times in the movie. It was in this regard that the actor joked about her contribution to the Indian Railways.
In the episode, when Varun Sharma, who plays the role of Kareen’s attorney, asks the actor to be more serious about her court appearances, she again quotes a dialogue in Hindi. She says, “Sikhni hu main Bathinda ki,” meaning she is a Sikh woman from Bathinda, and she knows everything, be it catching a train or winning a case.
‘Case Toh Banta Hai’ is a courtroom comedy aired on Amazon MiniTV. Besides showing Varun as a defence attorney, the comedy series has Riteish Deshmukh as a public defender and Kusha Kapila in the role of the judge. The theme of the show is to level allegations against celebs humorously. The show has already been graced by Varun Dhawan, Karan Johar and Vicky Kaushal.
