laal singh chadha: Aamir Khan wants to show ‘Laal Singh Chadha’ to ‘Forrest Gump’ star Tom Hanks, says he has received feedback

Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan are gearing up for their much awaited film ‘Laal Singh Chadha‘, which is already making headlines.

The film is an official remake of ‘Forrest Gump‘, which starred Hollywood actor Tom Hanks in the lead role.

Now according to reports, Khan plans on showing the Bollywood version of the film to Hanks. During a promotional event, Khan revealed that he has written to Hanks expressing that he would like to show the remake to him.

“I have written to him asking if he is free and would like to watch the film. I have got feedback from his team that they are seeing his schedule for that,” Khan said, as quoted by
Pinkvilla.

The two actors crossed paths during a meeting with film-maker Steven Spielberg when he was making a film with Hanks in Germany. The director had introduced the ‘3 Idiots’ actor to Hanks, referring to him as “James Cameron of India”.

According to
ETimes, Hanks was aware of Khan and was familiar with his work, and had watched ‘3 Idiots’ several times.

Directed by Advait Chandan of ‘Secret Superstar’ fame, ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ follows the extraordinary journey of a simpleton named Laal (played by Aamir) as he chases his dreams and love. The film also features Mona Singh and Naga Chaitanya.

Backed by Viacom18 Motion Pictures and Aamir Khan Productions, ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ is scheduled to be released worldwide on August 11.
