NEW DELHI: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi Tuesday left on an overseas trip that was said to be personal in nature.
Sources said he is likely to return by Sunday ahead of the Presidential election as well as the start of the monsoon session of Parliament on July 18. The party refused to comment on the trip. Rahul’s frequent foreign travels have elicited charges that he is a parttime political leader.
Interestingly, Congress is up for the election of a party president, and speculations continue about what will happen in the quinquennial process.
