He also believed that the only rule for him was that there weren’t any rules related to stocks. He was born in Rajasthan and had a degree in chartered accountancy. He traded in stocks since he was a teenager and his net worth, according to Forbes magazine, was around $6 billion.
Jhunjhunwala supported Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and he always said so in public. The Prime Minister, too, had kind words for him, implying that Rakesh was a winner, lover of life, intelligent, wise, and knowledgeable.
Jhunjhunwala was someone that investors and people from the financial world could fall back on for advice on the stock market. His feedback on finance, especially the stock market, made him a famous TV celebrity.
Apart from stocks, Jhunjhunwala was also an entrepreneur, and he started an airline called “Akasa Air,” which primarily connects domestic cities within India.
He has also produced a few Hindi films, of which “English Vinglish” starring Sridevi has been a hit. The movie took 20 crores to make and raked in around 70 crores.
