NEW DELHI: FMCG shares closed higher in the Friday’s session.
Parag Milk(up 4.14%), Hindustan Foods(up 3.79%), DFM Foods(up 3.64%), JHS Svendgaard Laboratories(up 2.63%), Heritage Foods(up 2.02%), Gillette India(up 1.06%), Prataap Snacks(up 0.80%), ADF Foods(up 0.54%), Britannia Industries(up 0.10%) and Colgate Palmolive(India)(up 0.05%) stood among the top gainers.
Vadilal Industries(down 2.48%), P & G Hygiene(down 1.56%), Euro India Fresh Foods(down 1.53%), Dabur India(down 1.33%), Jyothy Labs(down 1.25%), Dodla Dairy(down 1.10%), Godrej Consumer Products(down 1.06%), Hatsun Agro Product Ltd(down 0.75%), Tasty Bite Eatables(down 0.63%) and Zydus Wellness(down 0.51%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 36.45 points up at 17558.9, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 59.15 points at 58833.87.
Grasim Industries(up 3.1%), NTPC(up 2.83%), JSW Steel(up 2.82%), Titan Company Ltd(up 2.69%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(up 2.66%), Coal India(up 2.25%), Power Grid Corporation of India(up 1.83%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 1.78%), Shree Cement(up 1.77%) and Hindalco Industries(up 1.69%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Eicher Motors(down 3.63%), IndusInd Bank(down 1.85%), Bharti Airtel(down 1.37%), Asian Paints(down 1.16%), HDFC(down 0.95%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(down 0.73%), Reliance Industries(down 0.53%), Cipla(down 0.48%), UPL Ltd(down 0.35%) and Dr Reddys Laboratories(down 0.34%) closed in the red.
