NEW DELHI:

The Supreme Court on Monday disbanded the committee of administrators (CoA), appointed on May 18 for the All India Football Federation, to facilitate the revocation of AIFF‘s suspension by Fifa and hosting of the prestigious U-17 Women’s Football World Cup in India in October.
But it was not lost on a bench of Justices D Y Chandrachud and A S Bopanna, who took exception to the manner in which Fifa arm-twisted India by suspending the AIFF, putting in jeopardy the hosting of the U-17 Women’s World Cup and denial of participation to Indian teams in international tournaments.

Coric upsets Tsitsipas to win Cincinnati title:
Borna Coric, who only returned in March after missing a year with a shoulder injury, dominated fourth seed Stefanos Tsitsipas to win the ATP Cincinnati Masters. The world number 152 from Croatia dispatched the Greek star 7-6 (7/0), 6-2 to become the lowest-ranked player to ever lift a Masters trophy. “I have no words, to be honest. It’s just an unbelievable feeling,” the winner said.
Garcia goes from qualifier to champion:
Caroline Garcia capped a long week by beating Petra Kvitova 6-2 6-4 to claim the Cincinnati Open title and become the first qualifier to win a WTA Tour 1000 tournament. After battling through qualifying, Garcia beat three top-10 world-ranked opponents on the way to the final.
