NEW DELHI: Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered another FIR against former Mumbai Police commissioner Sanjay Pandey and former National Stock Exchange (NSE) chiefs Chitra Ramkrishna and Ravi Narain in the co-location scam.
The Enforcement Directorate will also question Pandey in Delhi on Tuesday in a related case registered by the anti-money laundering agency.
According to the complaint, iSec Services, a firm linked to Pandey, did not have the required expertise to audit the brokers as tasked by NSE and hence it subcontracted the job to small-time audit firms or chartered accountants.
These entities were paid around Rs 5,000 crore for the audits whereas the firm linked to Pandey was allegedly paid around Rs 12.5 crore including Rs 4.5 crore for “snooping on employees”.
CBI had earlier questioned Pandey in connection with the illegal phone-tapping case.
An FIR was earlier registered by CBI against Pandey, Ramkrishna and Narain among others for allegedly tapping phones of NSE employees between 2009 and 2017.
